Wild West Show

By Phil Young Copyright 2008 Sovereign Books Limited

Let me tell you a story about Westerners

It¡¯s a type of wild west show

It¡¯s not the same as the Buffalo Bill show

And some of the story you¡¯ll already know

So how was the wild west won

With the use of love

Or with the use of a gun

How muddy are the colonial streets

How deep do you want to go into this

So how was the wild west won

By the blood of an Englishman

And by cowboys

And wild Indians

The American Indians were eagle warriors

Like Horus of the Egyptians and Romans

The American eagles patrolled their dominion

Each tribe had a place on the continent

Hunting deer, buffalo and antelope

And eating the hearts of their enemies

So how wild was the Wild West show

As wild as the Buffalo

As wild as the doe c doe

Danced around the old wood stove

They took the eagles from their territories

And put them into cages

As if eagles could just stop flying

A conquered people almost dying

Now let me tell you about the Colonial days

Down in South Africa and Australia

The Phoenicians were the first to navigate

Africa¡¯s southern Cape

So Cape Town became a place to stop

For sailers to get off

But when the Hugenots fled to the Cape

They escaped the Catholic¡¯s burning stake

When the Voortrekkers trecked

Up to the highlands

They met the voodoo of the Zulus

And the Zulus soon

Surrounded their wagons

But the Zulus were outgunned

Without any guns of their own - losing 3000 men

Without the death of a white man

Afterwards the Zulus said

Angels they had seen

Surrounding their wagons and protecting them

The Voortrekker leader was Andre Pretorius

Who became the founder of the capital Pretoria

So when the English arrived in South Africa

To take over the Boer mines they were after

The Hugenot women handed out flowers

Showing the Boers were not animals

Even after all the pomp and ceremony

Knowing the English press had lied back home

Some British soldiers almost refused to fight

But they still butchered the Boers

And destroyed their homes

After taking the gold and diamonds lootable

The Africans were regarded unsuitable

And called Communist revolutionaries

Instead of being treated as human beings

The Aboriginees of Australia are different again

Although the colour of their skin is the same

But since they didn¡¯t have a central government

They lost their right to negotiate

And so they declared Australia

Terra Nullus

Which meant the land was unoccupied

Except for the fauna and the animals

Then they had the Abbo hunts

Killing the men and raping the women

Racial integration

Lost generations

In a sanitorium

The cleansing station

The Aussies love any conquest

Sports contests are usually the best

They¡¯re rugged and strong

In their green and gold

Like the sunshine world

Meeting the cold

An Olympic gold for Cathy Freeman

Everyone was pleased

To see her win

Aussies dressed in all shapes and sizes

Big John Eales and little George Gregan

The kangaroos and wallabies are always hearty

As long as the kiwis don¡¯t upset their party

Their Prime Minister

Might be a republican

But they better not think

They can gobble up New Zealand

So that¡¯s how the wild west goes

It¡¯s not exactly like Buffalo¡¯s show

But it¡¯s what started centuries ago

It¡¯s a story of Cain and Abel

Like when Cain murdered the innocent Abel

Clubbing him to death and standing in his blood

As he had no love for his righteous brother

White men have been divided ever since

Between those who belong to Cain

And those who belong to Abel

Separating the sheep

From the goats

One may be a sheep

While the other just looks like one

But the hardest to distinguish

Are the geeps

Because they are half goat and half sheep

But which

Listen to this

Because they can¡¯t breed

Disprove evolution theory

Perhaps you say

I ought to be more academic

Or more materialistic

Perhaps you say I am a heretic

Can¡¯t you see beyond your intellect

Don¡¯t you understand our hypocrisy

It means we are naked and exposed

Or do you stand in your fashion clothes
