Silly Apeman

By Phil Young Copyright 2008 Sovereign Books Limited

Lookin for an apeman

At the university

To dress the brightest scientist

As an apeman in a tree

In search for the apeman

Ever thrown a boomerang

Apes don¡¯t have the understanding

You silly apeman

After years of speaking evolution

As if a swirling mass

Can do something

As if it has happened

In your lifetime

These are your extremities

You see it¡¯s impossible to see

What you can¡¯t already see

It¡¯s not that I¡¯m trying to mock you

I understand the difficulty

So if you think a man¡¯s an ape

You¡¯d blow him away without hesitation

Just like the Abbos in Australia

Just like the Kong in Vietnam

Just like savages or Indians

But if you think he¡¯s a living person

Then you might not make the mistake

So that¡¯s why he¡¯s not an ape

Imagine the sort of technology

That they could use these days

They could use sound waves

To blow you away

Lookin for an apeman

At the university

They¡¯ve dressed a scientist

As an apeman in a tree
